Could You Be Making This Simple Mistake? (and could this be the reason you are not losing weight)

friends-forever--23100OK so here is the thing, I just spent 1 week in Sydney at a friends home. Only 1 out of the 4 girls who live there ate in a way that supported EASY weight loss and a fast metabolism.

Now get this…

NONE of the girls ate junk food!

Fruit, vegetables, good quality bread, cheese, almond and soy milks, nuts, eggs, pasta and red wine filled their pantry and fridge.healthy_food-300x240

So how could the girls be going wrong?

If you are like most people, you are probably thinking “sounds perfect to me Dana, nutritious, wholesome food”.

And you would be right to think that!

So what’s the catch?

Well first let’s examine 1 day of eating of one of the girls and then let’s discover some VERY INTERESTING tips, tricks and strategies that could SAVE YOU from gaining weight!

PERSON 1

Breakfast: Oats, Greek Yoghurt, Frozen Berriesoats

Mid Morn:     nothing

Lunch             nothing

Mid A’noon   nothing

Dinner            4 pieces vegetarian pizza, with greek yoghurt and guacomale,

2 glasses of red wine

Supper             2 tim tams

Water:            yes throughout the day

Exercise:         No

Mistake 1:      Missed Meals.

What Happens:

Your body goes into starvation mode. When this happens your metabolism slows down. A slow metabolism = weight gain

Solution :         Eat 5 small meals a day

Mistake 2:      to many carbohydrates and NO exercise

What happens:  

Carbs are stored as fuel. If simple carbs (such as sugar, fruit, white food products such as flour etc) are not used within 24 hours they are stored as fat. You have 72 hours to use your complex carbs before they are stored as fat. To many carbs = weight gain

Solution:         Eat a small portion of protein at each meal and eat loads of green fibrous carbs rather than white carbs such as bread, rice, pasta etc. Exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day combining muscle strengthening and cardio exercise

Tip 2: Eat Lean Protein every meal

Tip 3: Eat lots of green vegetables

Tip 4: Eat good fats 3 times a day

Tip 5: Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

Tip 6: Exersice More: Weight Train 3-4 times a week and Cardio 3 times a week
