Over 40 and Noticed Your Butt Starting To Sag?

Mature woman looking at herself in a mirrorHitting 40 can be a great feeling of more confidence, more money and a greater sense of self but it can also be a time when you start to put on weight around your middle, you start to notice your butt isn’t as tone as it once was and well you are starting to feel your age

You can’t help getting older, but you don’t have to be old

The good news is that you don’t have to age naturally; in fact, you can not only slow down the ageing process but also reverse it with some simple tips, tricks and strategies.

Are you a little curious?

Let me ask you this, do you drink enough water?  Did you know that research suggests that 70% of the population is dehydrated.  Unfortunately dehydration will slow down your metabolism making it difficult to shift stubborn fat.

Tip 1 # Drink water regularly

When was the last time you regularly lifted weights?  If only it was as simple as yes I lifted weights once, isn’t that enough?

Sorry to say but NO it isn’t that easy remember if it’s not hurting, its not working!

Once we hit 35 years of age, we start to lose muscle tone and guess where it normally starts – your glutes (bottom) and leg muscles hence you start to notice your butt, dare I say it, sag! Sorry girls BUT it isn’t all bad news.  Lucky for us our muscles have a memory, which means start lifting weights TODAY, doing squats, lunges and deadlifts and feel the results.  Not only will resistance training give you an uplifted butt, it will also speed up your metabolism.  Now I ask you, how much better does it get?

Tip 2 # Weight Train for the rest of your life!bottom-up-side-image

I often get asked, “How do I lose weight now that I am over 40, it seems impossible”

I understand.  Getting older does make it a little more challenging but hey we are amazing women.  We bring up our children, look after our homes, hubbies, maintain friendships and go to work.  I love the saying that we are chefs, bankers, cleaners, counselors, and mind readers and so the list goes on. If we can be all these things, we definitely have what it takes to lose weight

But don’t take my word for it.

Research tells us nutrition is 80% of the equation of healthy body weight so you literally are what you eat.

Good sources of protein, good fats, green fibrous vegetables and fruit should make up most of your daily meals with a treat thrown in every now and again.  The key is … be good most of the time, naughty some of the time and HAPPY all the time, results will follow.

Tip 3# Practice eating clean food regularly, small portions always and get support if you need it.

And finally remember…

PlanAIf Plan A didn’t work.

The alphabet has 25 more letters.  Practice, practice, practice until your new habits become your old ones.

Yours in health
